Years ago, my piano teacher (Mrs. Tjin Tjin, Ng) performed this composition on one of our annual recital in Balikpapan. As far as I can remember, that was the time when I fell in love with this piece. It was not only about the sound, but the whole performance; how it was being played. Since then, I had always been dreaming that one day, I would be able to play it. Well, apparently, I still do. This Improptu by Chopin brings some kind of mysteries to my ear and to my senses. Awal mula pertemuan saya dengan grup musik asal Inggris ini memang agak abstrak. Rasanya saya sudah pernah melihat nama band London Grammar di salah satu situs berita musik indie luar. Sepertinya itu beberapa bulan lalu. Baru mendengarkan bagian intro-nya saja, saya sudah yakin akan menyukainya. Benar saja, lagu Strong milik London Grammar pun tidak henti saya putar. Ki-Ka: Dot Major, Hannah Reid, Dan Rothman Grup musik beranggotakan Hannah Reid (vokalis), Dan Rothman (gitaris), dan Dot Major (instrumentalis) mencuri perhatian para  blogger musik   saat single "Hey Now" dirilis pada laman SoundCloud band tersebut, akhir 2012 lalu. Pertama kali saya jatuh cinta dengan gadis ini adalah ketika mendengarkan lagu ‘Skinny Love’ karya Bon Iver yang dibawakan dengan versinya sendiri, hanya ditemani iringan harmonis piano dari jentikan jarinya. Birdy, saat itu juga menarik perhatian saya untuk terus menyaksikan video klip sekian lagunya di Youtube , lalu, seratus persen yakin, saya langsung menjadikan gadis bernama asli Jasmine Van Den Bogaerde ini sebagai salah satu musisi perempuan favorit saya. Penampilannya dalam 'Skinny Love' ‘Skinny Love’ versi Birdy jauh berbeda dengan karya asli Bon Iver. Tidak ada unsur menjiplak, melainkan benar-benar mengubah aransemen dan menciptakan nuansa yang jauh berbeda pula.
